Some images, for a variety of reasons, can only be printed up to a certain physical size before the sharpness or image quality starts to get adversely affected.

Factors can include: camera sensor, lens used, initial image cropping etc...

I think individually we pretty quickly make a judgement about whether we like a picture or not - but it is interesting to me to understand how someone else reacts to your pictures

As I look through my lens today, I carry with me a lifelong gratitude for the winding path that brought me to photography. The earliest spark came from the tiny treasures my grandmother collected for me — small Chocolat Poulain pictures that felt like windows into other worlds...

Dave again... the more I have spent time building-out this website with the initial sampling of our archive of photos, the more I am impressed with the ability of local Search capability within the site

This is more of a place-holder for more to-come, but we are willing to share what equipment we have used, or any special techniques - especially if you are interested in knowing more about the "behind the scenes" for the Prints we have included so far

As you may imagine, each picture has a story - and while we would like to do that - our priority right now is to get this first selection "up"...

We have each curated 32 unique images, and have designated them as LE, or Limited Edition.  The intent is to only offer a total of 20 prints (ever) for the specific sizes listed on bottom of each individual Print page

Each Limited Edition will be the largest printed size for that image, however in the full galleries you should be able to find one or more smaller sizes of the same image, which will be considered as open editions

Because of this distinction, the website Search results may show two versions of the same picture, where the one with the (LE) will link to the respective Print page with specific size options and price information

For the other prints that are not restricted on the number that can be made, those are termed Open-run, or open edition prints

Note: on the Search page, there is a pre-defined Search for all Limited Edition prints, as well as for all the open-run prints (and can also do a slideshow for any Search result)

Dave again writing....Photography has been a stress-relief activity for me from various small burdens that can sometimes seem to accumulate. When I think about why I am drawn into the challenge of creating the best images I can, not just for the technical aspects like; focus, composition, exposure or depth of field (which are all important), I've listed a few relevant quotable quotes below to help explain what resonates with me...

Dave here...We had been taking and informally sharing our photography for years, and Sylvie made several personal photo-books for the family, but the thought of creating an efficient website by ourselves was just not practical with my full-time job...

As we are setting-up this website, we have decided we will Not be incorporating any form of flashing banners or pop-ups asking you to be put on any email lists...We are already bombarded with enough spam that we don't want to be like that
